Help for Coronavirus or COVID 19 Feelings
About these Feelings
A lot of things changed when the Coronavirus germs came. Kids had changes with school and staying home, changes with rules about washing hands and staying healthy, changes with seeing friends and family, and sometimes changes with food and how things got used at your house. Parents had changes with jobs and money and some of them got busier at home, some got busier away from home and some had more time to do things at home. Lots of kids and parents got very bored or sad when they could not do the things they wanted to do. Sometimes they got sad or mad or scared about all the changes happening. Sometimes worries about who could get sick or hurt by these germs can keep your brain busy with worried thoughts.

What you Can Do to Help These Feelings
When kids get really big feelings they can do lots of things themselves and with their families that will help.
- Get exercise that gets your blood pumping. Work with your mom and dad on ways you can exercise at your house like running laps in a hallway, jumping on a mini trampoline or cushions on the floor, or climbing stairs.
- Practice Deep Breathing by imagining that someone just baked cookies. Smell in through your nose the cookie smells you imagine and blow out through your mouth the pretend cookies to cool them off to eat them. Do this 5-10 times slowly. You can also do this lying down on the floor with a stuffed animal on your belly watching it go up and down.
- Talk about your feelings with someone you trust like a parent or even a special pet. If your family prays that can help a lot too, try talking to God about your feelings. Just saying it out loud can help feelings start to feel better.
- Do something to help someone else. This can get some other feelings started inside and give you a break from your tough feelings.
